Practical Strategies to Develop Emotional Resilience

For those who wish to find out more about our approach or for staff who have recently joined a Nurturing Schools Network school. This workshop will introduce the research and rationale for supporting the emotional health of pupils and teachers, and will include activities around positive behaviour support; praise, criticism and feedback; and effective communication. This workshop provides participants with all the skills, strategies and resources required to implement effective social and emotional learning in their classrooms. Understanding the Adolescent Brain

This 1-day professional development course gives school staff, youth support teams and other professionals working with young people an opportunity to better understand adolescent brain development and its effect on behaviour. The day brings together the latest understanding from neuroscience and developmental psychology and the principles of the Nurturing Programme, one of the leading social and emotional education interventions in the UK.

This professional development course is designed for those working with young people in educational settings and includes strategies to promote resilience and build positive relationships with young people in an educational context. If you are working with young people or their parents in other settings you may be interested in our Understanding Teenagers 1-day Professional Development Course.
